"Why not create an additional "living room" outdoors if you have a deck or patio? Many department and hardware stores have inexpensive faux wicker products for sale. If you prefer quality furniture; wrought iron, teak, rattan or wicker is timeless and goes with almost any décor. Lastly, add colour and style with tents, umbrellas, cushions, outdoor curtains or screens. The possibilities are endless - now get outside - summer is here!"After Patio ReDesign!
This is an excerpt from my forthcoming book, How to Decorate Seasonally, Room by Room...
These words were written before I actually had the patio that I wanted for myself! At the end of last summer I purchased a beautiful ceramic top table and wicker furniture on clearance but as I was busy with family and clients I did not have time to decorate my patio. I cleaned up my garden, covered everything up for the winter and forgot about it all until the recent change in the weather...Before Patio ReDesign
Fortunately, last month I took my own advice and used my skills as a professional shopper and ReDesign Specialist to create an additional living room on my small 10' x 11' cement patio. I purchased an inexpensive plant, umbrella, cushions and outdoor area rug and "used what I had" to create a unique and functional space. I tested it Mother's Day weekend when my mom and sister came to visit and it was so comfy and functional. Now it does feel like another living room and I am ready for the summer guests that will arrive soon! View my current offer...
